11月12日,人大新闻网刊发《刘灿:于微观世界为芯片“耕耘良田”》一文,介绍了刚入选2025年麻省理工科技评论“35岁以下科技创新35人”(MIT TR35)亚太区名单、现年33岁的中国人民大学物理学院教授刘灿入选。

据文章,2022年,刘灿博后出站入职人大,受聘副教授;2023年,获批国家自然科学基金优秀青年科学基金项目;2024年,主持国家重点研发计划子课题,任课题组长;2025年,破格晋升教授。发表一作/通讯作者论文30余篇,其中包括Science 3篇、Nature子刊9篇……

“我从小就喜欢物理,”刘灿坦言,“我享受逻辑推导和演算,更享受解开复杂题目后那种豁然开朗的感觉。”这份对物理的纯粹喜爱,让她在科研路上走得坚定而执着。

文章提到,“如果把今天广泛使用的芯片,比作已被精耕到极致的‘硅晶圆土地’,那我的工作,就是去寻找并开垦全新的‘二维晶圆良田’。”刘灿这样形容自己的研究。然而,如何将实验室里指甲盖大小的样品,转化为可投入产业应用的高质量、大面积晶圆,是全球科学家面临的共同挑战。在长达数月甚至更久的时间里,她和团队沿用传统方法屡屡受挫。

转折来自一次思维上的“逆向而行”。“既然让原子从‘天上’(气相)落下来困难重重,那能不能让它们从‘地下’(衬底)长出来?”这个大胆的设想让团队兴奋不已。经无数推演与实验,最终,他们提出了“晶格传质-界面生长”的新方法,突破了二维材料在层数控制与堆垛结构上的关键瓶颈,实现高质量二维单晶快速可控生长,速率可达每分钟50层。

2025年9月22日,上海浦江创新论坛期间,2025年度“35岁以下科技创新35人”亚太区入选名单正式揭晓。刘灿位列其中。

创刊于1899年的《麻省理工科技评论》是全球历史最悠久、最具影响力的科技杂志和智库之一。每年,它会从多个维度寻找专注于新兴科技创新,并有望通过技术落地来改变世界的青年力量,由此形成TR35榜单。

公开资料显示,刘灿高中毕业于河北正定中学,2014年本科毕业于西北工业大学,2019年博士毕业于北京大学,2019-2022年通过“博新计划”于北京大学从事博士后研究。她2022年入职中国人民大学物理学院,2023年获批国家自然科学基金委优秀青年科学基金,2024年主持国家重点研发计划子课题,任课题组长。

她主要从事芯片用二维材料制备及光谱学研究,近年来发表一作/通讯作者论文30余篇,其中包括Science 3篇、Nature子刊9篇,申请国家发明专利16项。她主持基金委优青项目、面上项目,国家重点研发计划子课题,北京市基金委重点项目等,曾获未来女科学家计划、2DM新锐青年科学家奖、中国十大新锐科技人物等支持及奖励。
